Song at Sunset, above, is an old photo, just re-worked this morning. I've been through several versions today and am not certain this is what I was aiming for, but I'll leave it be for now.

Praise Song, below, is the original for "Song at Sunset:"

I really miss standing at various spots under that tree, looking up and snapping photos. It's a long walk from where I live and my arthritic knees can't handle that distance anymore. Which is probably why the other versions I made today of this picture wound up in shades of blue, like Song of Sorrow, below, which may be the best so far of the batch:

Jostling puts me in mind of a rush hour morning on the subway, back when I lived in New York City. That may sound strange, but on that extremely rare occasion when I was actually in a good mood I felt we passengers were like flowers in different stages of growth, jostling for the right postion and the best light. No animus, just the gentle necessities of growth.

By the way, this is an over three year old photo, just re-worked this morning. As is my frequent bent, I inverted the colors, then did some other minor tweaking.

Ecstasis is a revision I just made today of a three year old photo. Another one of those pictures I never quite liked enough to post or use in a card, but had some vague thing that prompted me to keep saving it. Well, I not only inverted the colors in it today, but flipped it upside down and, voila, I'm now glad I saved it. I've really been yearning for even a dollop of joy in my life. (It's been an unremitting struggle for some time.) And discoverying this colorful bit of visual delight this morning in a virtually forgotten photo, gave me one. Sometimes, timing really is everything.

Topping It Off is more than two and a half years old. One of those efforts I've never thought was any great shakes, but that I've always liked. I've probably posted other pictures of that central palm before. It's one I see and enjoy just about every day as I wait for the elevator. It almost always has one straight up spear, but not always also a frond about to fall. It's also not usually so balanced, as the prevailing winds tend to make its fronds splay mostly to the left.

Teaching Tai Chi, above, is a very old photo. Not only the "posture" of this climber prompted the title. Checking on this bud every day and photographing its progress was truly a lesson in slow, meditative stillness. It also brought residents together as we stood below it and quietly marveled; only one of several that ultimately graced the chimney that year.

Chilling, above, sets the theme for today: architecture.

This next below is A Skewed View:

This last below is Three Wishes, and boy howdy, do I have wishes today (grumpus mumpus that I am):
