SONG OF NORWAY

"Song of Norway" (8-1-17 001v2a) was morphed last night from a very new pic. It's in a folder I'm suspecting will generate lots of pix. It has already, and I only have three original pix in it. That's a good clue it'll have me for some time to come. BTW, the originals were taken sitting under a willow and looking straight up. As to this one's title, it just popped as I looked at it. I see a hint of a fjord and certainly of snow. And memories of my 12th year, when my father was the lead in "Song of Norway" in summer stock, have been rather seriously haunting me, for various reasons.

THREADBARE

"Threadbare" (8-1-17 002v3) is only a "meh" pic as far as I'm concerned. But I haven't time to fuss further at it or start working on another, entirely different photo. Of course, I could choose not to post again today but I'd rather put something new up. And there are things I like about "Threadbare." The texture mostly. And I like the color combo but not the contrast -- just can't get that right. Just like my mood -- my enthusiasm is rather threadbare and colorless right now. (Emotional and physical exhaustion.) Maybe tomorrow's pic will be more satisfying. BTW, it looks somewhat better in a larger version (just click on it if interested).

ON THE WAY TO THE SKY

"On the Way to the Sky" (7-31-17 005v2) was just fudged from a new pic I've had in my camera a couple of days. Hadn't wanted to be faced with deleting most of these ocean shots, as from long experience I know shooting into the sun isn't the best thing to do (smile). But every once in a while I get shots I can fuss into some sort of half-a---ed shape. This is one. As is the one I just posted with my dream narrative earlier: Stealing My Breath Away. Both of these pix have things I'm not all that happy with, but overall I like the feelings they each impart in their own ways.

END OF THE ROMANCE, with Wabi Sabi aesthetic

"End of the Romance, with Wabi Sabi aesthetic" (in "Haiga; other PGK art" folder) is a photo I've posted here a couple of times over the years. It's one of my favorites. But I believe this is the first time I've posted it with the Japanese Wabi Sabi aesthetic below it, although I have printed out this version and had it on my front door a couple of times. The photo always gives me an acute wabi sabi awareness, as has much that's been happening to others around me recently and in my own life.

FANCIFUL FUCHSIA

"Fanciful Fuchsia" (8-7-14 006v2) was just fussed out of the old original pic. Since I took this pic almost three years ago I've tortured many a version out of it, but kept deleting them. The arrangement of those roses always makes for a difficult and unsatisfying crop. However, their color so delights me I've kept trying. And although this version sure ain't perfect, it comes a lot closer to what I feel about it. It was also fun to do a simple "just pretty" pic. No straining for an impressive (LOL!) abstraction. Plain and simple, with gorgeous fuchsia to boot. And, yes, the original roses, both in the garden live and in the unfussed with pic, were these shades. Well, a couple of the roses were a deeper magenta shade. Close enough, I'd say.
