SEA FOAM

Since the start this past week of the El Niño rain storms here in CA, I've been seeing lots of T.V. news video of sea foam. It gets churned up on to the beaches by the storms. And that's just what I was reminded of when this pic, "Sea Foam" (5-27-15 017v2a), popped on my computer screen.

STAINED GLASS MELTDOWN

Oy! My liking of "Stained Glass Meltdown" (3-21-15 020v9c) lasted even less time than it often does for a brand new version of a pic. But I haven't the time today to move on to some other pic, some other folder. Especially as, given my mood, there's even less chance than usual that something more likable would result. I'll simply add that what I liked enough about it to name it on first sighting was that vague resemblance to stained glass (that outlining of colored shapes).

LADDER ONTO SUNSET

The original for today's pic was taken last March, and I just now morphed "Ladder Onto Sunset" (3-21-15 020v6b) from an equally old version I'd made of it. I'm not often out at sunset but when I am I really enjoy looking at it. So that's what inspired my choice of colors in this version of a mid-day fern branch.

HOLDING OFF THE NIGHT

"Holding Off the Night" (4-27-15 050v4b) was just fudged with today from an earlier version of a many months old pic. Kinda, sorta like it. As almost always with new versions, I liked it more when it first showed up on my computer screen. Then found myself wanting to try other things with it. Maybe that's just part of the imperative of the creative urge, to never be satisfied, to always be curious about "what else." At least I'd like to think it's that, and not me being an anxious perfectionist. (BTW, the result of today's "what else" may be posted here in the future.)

BREAK OF DAY

"Break of Day" (12-8-15 1689ev15a) is (not surprisingly, given my wont) one of many versions of the same pic. Mostly in these many versions I've been trying out different color combos, though have made some changes in "texture." And I've done color inverting, re-inverting, and inverting again along the way. Right now, this one's my fave. But who knows about tomorrow ... or even if it's the last in this long string of morphs from one pic.

WINTER EMBROIDERY

"Winter Embroidery" (11-27-15 007v6d) took me quite a while to develop (through four other versions). But I wasn't about to give up on coming to something I like with a purplish hue in it, somewhere. It's my birthday and I wanted to put up something with my most favorite color in it. It's possible I'll share one of the others that is different in both color and texture. But not today. Today's for purple ... and those "embroidered" leaves. Please click on the image if you'd like to see the "stitches." (BTW, it's my 72nd birthday. I find that surprising. And not just because I've actually made it to this high a number, but because inside? Well, that remains ageless.)

THE INMOST SEA

"The Inmost Sea" (1-19-11 10437v8o) took me on an even lengthier ride than usual. I kept morphing a quite different version out of the previous one that I'd like but immediately have big problems with. One after the other, like cyber-nesting dolls. So it was not only a delight when this one showed up, but a relief. I'm hungry and I've been sitting at this computer way too long this morning! Yeah, I could have waited to post "The Inmost Sea" 'til I've stretched and eaten; there's really no rush. But I didn't want to, and that's that. (BTW, if you'd like, click on the image to see the details a bit better in a larger version.)
