DEATH OF A TIGER LILY

"Death of a Tiger Lily" (8-5-09 5009v3c) was just now morphed from an old morph of an even older pic. I've been passing by the same stand of tiger lilies it was taken in (yeah, it really was a pic of a tiger lily) and trying to get new pix of it for some time now. But to no success. So when I stumbled across this folder with a few very old pix of the same flowers, in the same corner, I was delighted. Well, as delighted as I'm able to feel these days. The title of this pic may give you some idea of my on-going mood.

HEY, WHERE'D THAT OLD MOON GO?

"Hey, Where'd That Old Moon Go?" (6-28-09 2988v4k) was just now morphed from an old version of one of my oldest pix. Nothing much else to say except it was fun to morph a sort of silly pic that began to tell the story of not being able to find something that one got used to being there that isn't anymore. As sad as that experience is ... (BTW, click on pic to see the detail.)

RETURN TO THE SEA

"Return to the Sea" (6-4-17 038v3b) made me want to cry as I worked on it last night. (This one's best viewed in a larger version, so just click on the image to see the detail.) I kept associating it to the actual -- as opposed to Disney version -- ending to the fairy tale "The Little Mermaid." After giving up her fish tail for (if I remember correctly, useless) land legs and losing the Prince she'd done this for, she dives back into the sea again, becoming one with it. Yeah, who's really blue?

HYDRA RISING

"Hydra Rising" (5-27-17 024v3) was just now fudged from a rather new pic. This is one of my fave trees I come across on long walks. But honestly, to steal from Will Rogers, I've never met a tree I didn't like. :-) BTW, when I say "fudged," that's just with color contrasts and texture, as this is how the tree is actually shaping up.

HER DREAMS COLOR THE NIGHT

"Her Dreams Color the Night" (6-4-17 028v2) is a recent pic, just fudged with a couple of days ago. This block of bougainvillea has been on my list of things to take pix of and I finally tried. However, I need to take some pix of it later in the day when the sun isn't as high in the sky and maybe I won't need to morph the behoositz out of it to get any result I'm happy with. Its reds and fuchsias are problematic enough without bright direct sunlight. :-) BTW, I thought of calling this "Sleeping Beauty's Dreams Color the Night" but that's such a mouthful. Yet, I always think of Sleeping Beauty snoring away in a castle behind these bushes that are sort of brambly with twiggy tangled areas, even when they're in full bloom as they are this time of year.

STUDY IN ROYAL BLUE

"Study in Royal Blue" (6-4-17 024v2) was morphed a couple days ago from a fairly new pic. It's rather unusual for me to retain this color when it results from color inversion. But I was particularly glad I did when I realized today is Father's Day. How perfect, I thought! Dad's favorite color was royal blue.
