FOOD FOR THE SOUL

"Food for the Soul" (9-29-09 7174v4) is admittedly probably just food for my soul; love these shades of lavender and blue. I just fudged it from one of my oldest pix and, speaking of food, the colors kept making my mouth water. :-) The original blossom is much paler and softer colored, but I so like this intensified version. If you'd like to see a rather different version of this same pic, click here.

POSING FOR THE MOON

"Posing for the Moon" (12-6-18 007v3c) was fudged with a little while back from a newish original pic. I've posted other shots of these three trees here. Love that one big tree trunk with those little trees to either side sort of waving from behind it. Wish I could be there now snapping other pix. But I'm housebound again. Between my right knee giving me electric shocks, and a cough/cold I'm stuck at my computer. Never a terrible proposition given all the pix I have to play around with and poems to work on/organize, but I miss those long walks!

THE LONG CLIMB TO MIDNIGHT

"The Long Climb to Midnight" (12-6-17 003v2b) is one of those many pix that I kinda, sorta liked when I first morphed it from the original photo. But took a "Wait and see, I think there's something yet to be done with it" stance. And then, each time since then that I've come across it I've liked it a bit more just as is. Until now, when I am content with it fully at last. That fantasy quality really appeals to me.

PAS DE TROIS REDUX

"Pas de Trois Redux" (12-6-17 007v2) was fussed with a little while ago. All I did today was convert it to black and white from a full color version I'd saturated but not been really happy with. And that "fixed" it by bringing out what I was trying to get at: those lovely tree shapes and shadows. I had tried sharpening it a bit, but that actually decreased the lovely contrasts by making it too visually busy. It also detracted from that slightly old-fashioned look of it all. I'd also tried sepia tones, but that reduced the contrasts.

NO ESCAPING SUNRISE

"No Escaping Sunrise" (10-3-11 11324v2x) was just morphed out of the same old version of an even older pic I've been fussing at for days now. I had initially thought to post a soft, pastel version in very different shapes, etc. but for some reason kept working and producing many more versions. Each subsequent version has been darker in color and impact. Which more accurately (unfortunately, as usual these days) reflects my mood. I now just can't post that soft and light-hearted one; it's too close to lying.
