BOTTOMING OUT

I've been stuck on making new morphs of the same version of a very old photo for a few days now. One of today's several results is the above "Bottoming Out" (9-2-09 6439v2gh). That's not a complaint, by the way, just a belief that I couldn't have moved off this old pic if I wanted to. Which I didn't. Guess I haven't bottomed out yet.

THIRD EYES WILD

"Third Eyes Wild" (9-2-09 6439vm) is from the same very old source pic as yesterday's photomorph. What else can I say? I've clearly done masses of fudging with it in Photoshop. And, I might add, had a great good time doing so. There's even another version of it that I posted this morning with my dream poem, here.

LAST GASP OF THE ROSE

"Last Gasp of the Rose" (9-2-09 6439v2e) was just morphed this morning from another of my oldest pix. Nothing much else to say except the usual that I have several other versions waiting in the wings as well. One that I'm quite tempted to post today with this one. But won't as I have a more than usually busy computer session (doing other sorts of work) ahead of me today and have never liked feeling rushed. P.S. Although it may appear that I used the Photoshop filter "solarize" on this one, I did not. Neither was I aiming for a "solarized" look in particular. The effect appeared as I was applying slews of other filters, and I decided that I sort of like the "solarized" look here.

CAVE PAINTING

"Cave Painting" (8-18-09 5770ev3) is from an old version of one of my oldest pix. It's one of seven I made today. All of them very much alike but just different enough for this one to emerge as my favorite. It's the texture that makes it my choice to post today, instead of any one of the other, smooth edged versions.

SETTING AN EXAMPLE

"Setting An Example" (4-10-13 12445b) is an old crop from an even older source photo. One I sort of liked back when I first cropped it, but never felt OK about posting. I fooled around with its focus and color saturation this morning and think it's more OK than not now. However, I go back and forth about the crop. Does it balance that full rose's eye-catching center shapes? Or do they outweigh their framing? I.e., make it look a wee bit out of balance visually. I have other much closer in crops that I've posted on my blogs. But really wanted to retain the full bloom with its little partnering bud in at least one version. So I'll live with the vague uncertainty about this one.

AFTERNOON LIGHT

Just stumbled across the source pic for "Afternoon Light" (7-28-13 017v5) this morning, opening and closing folders at random. It's a old pic, one I've always liked but had considerable trouble with. I'm content with this version that I just produced.

Haiga: "in a triangle..."

I've had the source version of this "in a triangle..." haiga for a long time. Not content that it worked. I rarely make haiga as it's a considerable challenge to find a photo/morph of mine that complements and also spatially accommodates any particular haiku, and vice versa. I prefer the way I pair my pix with haiku on my dreams & poetry blog, placing the photo/morph above the haiku. In any case, I fiddled with the coloring of the source version of today's haiga and like it quite a bit more than the original. BTW, haiga is "a Japanese concept for simple pictures combined with poetry, usually meaning haiku."
