WORLD EGG

"World Egg" (6-28-16 001v5)  is as I stumbled across it in a folder of pix from this summer. I.e., as I edited it back then. The only thing I did today was ever so slightly crop it for the proper posting dimensions. (I will admit I made another version of it just now and actually put it up here, but did not like how it looked in blogger at all.) BTW, there's a great deal of detail in this one that simply doesn't come across, so if you're interested, click on the pic for a larger version.

DIGGING IN

"Digging In" (10-27-16 031v2d) was just fussed from an earlier version of a newish pic. It's one of those many that I liked more at first and now, well, "meh." But I do love those tree roots. Maybe someday I'll get over to that tree-lined street at a different time of day and see what pix result then.

AERATION

"Aeration" (12-6-09 8517v7a) may be one of my pix that only its mother could love, and I do. I just fussed it out of one of my oldest pix...a version thereof that had already been heavily fudged with years back. What to say about it. The post production on this one goes back years, and even what you see here is the result of a lot of fooling around today. (There are even two versions I saved today in back of/beneath this one, plus several I did not save.) Since it's been so massively edited it was going more and more readily wonky as I worked on it. So I was delighted when what I'm calling "Aeration" popped on my screen. A breath of fresh air, to say the least. (Probably best viewed in a larger version for the details, so if you'd like, click on the image.)

THE WIND'S UP

"The Wind's Up" (11-29-16 013v3) was just now fixed up from a two day old pic. (That same batch of pix yesterday's pic is from: of that gloriously windy morning.) Not much done to it. A big cropping (the original takes in much more in the foreground), some sharpening, and then a bit of fussing to lighten those trees on the left, and get the colors and contrasts "right."

THE ISLANDS GO UP IN SMOKE

"The Islands Go Up In Smoke" (11-29-16 015v2) was taken yesterday and fussed into presentable shape just now. What a glorious day it was! All blustery, and ranging from comfortably warm when the sun came out from behind the many clouds, to very chily, cold even, when it was hidden. And the trees! How they writhed in the gusts. So I pulled the collar of my jacket up and kept my hands stuffed in my sleeves for warmth as I enjoyed the show. BTW, all I did to this pic was realign it (I couldn't tell at all, given that behind-the-clouds-sun-glare, how the pic was lined up), crop it, and do a bit of sharpening and very slight color adjustment. Oh, and "Islands"? The Channel Islands, they tend to come and go in terms of visibility out there.

DECISION POINT

"Decision Point" (10-15-16 017v2) is a fairly recent pic and has appeared on my dreams&poetry blog. I was just at this ocean view this morning and what a glorious day. Very windy and cold, with moments of warming sun when the many white clouds would permit. I don't recall the day of this pic in particular, but from the color cast of this photo I'd say it was a slightly hazy day. Though too much bright sun can do the same thing to a pic (at least with the only working camera I have left to use these days). To be honest, I don't think there's any weather I would not enjoy at this ocean overlook park. (As long as I'm dressed appropriately, as I was this morning. :-D) As to this pic, I didn't do a whole lot to it, other than crop it for optimum posting/printing proportions, and fuss at the contrast and focus a wee bit.

GET THE MESSAGE?

"Get the Message" (10-11-16 020v2) is a recent pic, used a little while back on my dreams&poetry blog. I'm in a bit of a rush or I might go searching for something else. It leaves me a little flat today. And that white sky bothers me. I did try getting some little bit of blue into it, but couldn't without messing with all the other colors in the pic. Ah well, maybe the message is to accept things as they are (wry little smile).
