"Clearing the Way" (10-5-15 007v2) doesn't give me much satisfaction. But trying to get shots of this view from the overpass above our front gate is never fully satisfying. As I've complained here many times before, I'm sure. However, this is one of the better shots I've managed to get, what with the obstructing foreground trees, and mid-ground pole and more trees. Any shot of this view (whether I'm hoping to capture that sky and mountains, or the construction site, or as in this case both) always looks so much better in my camera view screen than computer screen. That collapsing from 3D to 2D that happens between live view and the computer screen view reeks havoc, every time. Not to mention how the foliage always darkens way down, and the effects of the weather and time of day on shadows and colors and focus. All of which is probably more manageable for a more technically proficient photographer than I am. Bottom line? The reality is it's a tough shot to frame decently no matter the time of day or weather or anything else. This one's at least not terrible.
