WE'RE IN THIS TOGETHER

"We're In This Together" (2-27-17 008v2p) was just now fussed out of an older version of a pic taken about a year ago. If you'd like to see another version also just made today, click here. And (nu?) I have several versions of the same crop of the original pic. These shapes just keep suggesting things to me. As they did when I noticed them on the trunk of the huge old palm they were on...are still on. :-) I flipped a couple of the versions to the horizontal, creating a very different sort of feel. Wish it were as easy to do that with my life. "Flip! Things look and feel differently now!" Maybe it is and I've just not developed that skill ... yet. Yeah, guess not all is lost if I can say "yet" at 74 years of age and actually believe I'm still in it to grow and change. BTW, if you're not tired of clicking, click on the above image for a larger version, so you can see the details.

CHALLENGING THE NIGHT

"Challenging the Night" (5-27-18 024v2) was morphed a while back from a pic I took late last spring. Yep, it's that same tree I've posted pix of here before. I've had this version "hanging fire" for some time. And today when I looked at it I couldn't find that much to object to in it. :-) Yeah, I tried toning down that radiating light from the fence, but the rest of the pic lost something. The contrast, as is, seems to be its basic appeal ... at least to me.

GOING HOME

"Going Home" (6-4-17 038v2fa) was just tortured today out of an old morph of a pic I took early last summer. It's one of those I've liked from the giddy-up but also had trouble with. And until I flipped it from its original horizontal orientation and added that vague suggestion of sky at the top, it fell far too short of what I kept sensing in it. Now it's much closer to making it home. :-)

THE SLOTH'S PROGRESS

"The Sloth's Progress" (8-13-17 011v4b) was just fudged from a recent morph of a pic taken this past summer. Hm, what else to say as it's obviously been heavily edited in Photoshop (the original is of eucalyptus tree roots). And it may be obvious, but just in case it isn't, the title comes from that suggestion of a horizontal tree branch from which a "sloth" shape hangs (see those long "nails" they have to hang by?). Ah, well, so my imagination's working overtime. Hey, it's still working! :-) BTW, try clicking on the pic if you'd like to see more of the detail.

FROM HER COLORING BOOK

"From Her Coloring Book" (8-13-17 009v4) was heavily fudged sometime ago from a pic taken late this past summer. Love this color combo and the suggestion of a colored pencil drawing. Used to do lots of the latter as a kid (which, of course, is why the title :-D). BTW, the original pic is of a fire engine red canna blossom against a very pale yellow wall. It's such fun to mess with a pic. To go for what itches at my imagination when I look at it. Hey, there's always the original to return to; I always save it, right along with any of it's off-shoot morphs.

GHOST OF A CHANCE

"Ghost of a Chance" (8-13-17 011v5) was just morphed from an older version of a pic taken this past August. The original is of those eucalyptus trees roots I so love looking at and snapping pix of. I rotated this pic, though, to bring out the rising feeling in these roots. They have always suggested a rose bud on a climbing vine to me; they're also vaguely phallic. I already have a few other versions of this crop and orientation. Each time I look at them another teases me with its possibilities. Like chasing after that "ghost of a chance." Sigh. BTW, I'd suggest clicking on today's pic if you're interested in seeing the details (a larger version will pop on-screen).

TÊTE-À-TÊTE

TÊTE-À-TÊTE (11-2-17 011v4f) was morphed right after it was taken (selfie in Halloween costume) and further fudged with today. Yeah, I'm having to periodically give myself a good talking to today; mood's all over the map. But, back to this pic: the original is a selfie taken in my 2017 Halloween costume, in the corner where two mirrors in my bathroom meet. I've probably posted others very much like this one taken that same evening. I'd like to try taking pix of other people, but don't know if they'd welcome having their image so fudged with! :-) Guess I could ask how they might feel, hm? As to what I did to this one: big cropping, color inversion, conversion to b&w, and lots of texture and other filter fussing.
