IT'S ALL ABOUT THE SPIRALS

"It's All About the Spirals" (7-8-16 008v2) was taken yesterday and just "completed" now. It's of a favorite sort of scene for me: the contrasct of architecture and flora, as well as shadows and light. Of course, what initially drew me to try a slew of shots of this area leading up from a below-ground parking garage was those spiraled columns. It was a difficult place to take pix in as the sky (which is present in other shots I took more to the right) was (of course) very bright in comparison to the rest of the area. I have one shot of the stairs and escalator to the right that almost passes muster and I may post it some other time. But today's pic was a pleasure to prepare for posting. I haven't gotten a shot like this in a long time, IMHO.

CELEBRATING THE STORM

"Celebrating the Storm" (11-27-15 007v6c) is another pic that's been hanging fire for some time, as is. All I did to it today was resize for posting. It's fun to stumble across a pic I'd forgotten I had ready for sharing. Especially when it's of one of my favorite subjects to photograph.

I. AM HERE .FOR YOU

"I.Am Here. For You" (10-24-15 008v2) is several months old, and has been ready and waiting to be posted probably that entire time. Not sure why I haven't put it up here before. But given I have about 12,000 pix on my computer (all worked on in some way) I suppose it's not surprising some just fall through the cracks in my record keeping system. In any case, I was happy to see this welcoming face when I opened its folder. (Not sure I can adequately explain the periods in the title. Except that they create a rhythm/emphasis I want.)

HOW TIME FLIES

"How Time Flies" (3-24-16 010v4b) has been sitting in its folder, waiting to take off. (Just in case that reference isn't obvious, I see a bird in flight in this abstract pic.) A different version I morphed of the same crop, of the same old pic, was posted here previously. I so enjoy looking at this odd shape. It has a sort of happy lightness to it that I would like to be exposed to more often these days.

CATCH A FALLING STAR

"Catch A Falling Star" (6-28016 001v3) was morphed from a new pic a couple of days ago. I find these colors particularly pleasing. And that sort of snowflake shape caught or hanging in what might be tree branches tickles me. The original pic is of green, vaguely clover like ground cover on cracked dry earth. So I clearly had a lot of fun fussing at it in Photoshop and MSPictureManager.

THE APPROACH OF EVENING

"The Approach of Evening" (7-3-16 001v2) was taken yesterday as I was standing at the door of our laundry room. The original pic is a much larger distant view and I was pleasantly surprised at how clear this version came out, especially once cropped way down. Even using my camera's landscape setting I had little hope that it would. Especially as I just quickly "tossed off" two shots of this favorite sort of scene, and hurried to take laundry out of the dryer and be done with it.
