THE HANGOVER

"The Hangover" (2-13-17 020v2h) was just further morphed from a version of a four month old pic. It's one of those (as I've said here before about a pic) that I liked much more when it first popped up on my screen. But I dunnoh if anything would really please me today. I am actually in a rather hungover state, but from too many intense and on-going emotions, as opposed to any substance. My (almost daily) long walk did help (as it usually does) but it's not a cure and today's "hangover" resurfaced pretty quickly. Ah well, just one more thing to learn to accept. BTW, this pic is better viewed in a larger version, I think, so just click on it if you're curious.

DISTANT RAINS

"Distant Rains" (5-27-17 013v3) is not really such a good pic. But I like it because it (just barely) captures the rain falling on the Channel Islands. It was quite a kick to see that live and I'm surprised it showed at all in this pic. I'd use the original, larger version of this photo, but a floating bed of seaweed darkens part of the sea, making for a big distraction visually. And there was nothing I could do to counteract that, at least with my minimal Photoshop skills. So I cropped it out.

RISE OF THE ROSES

"Rise of the Roses" (5-2-10 100523v3b) is (yup!) a brand new morph of a very old morph of a seven year old pic. In fact, the same pic morph I've been fiddlin' 'round with for a couple of days now. Yesterday's has the same original pic beneath it, and the one I posted today with my daily poem also's from the same old photo. I've also posted other pix from the folder (re-worked, of course) recently. It's one of those folders that's for some reason keeping me endlessly entertained. Which is saying something given my tremendous mood swings these days. I can go from feeling that the roses are rising, to an abysmal crash, within the space of one breath. Ah well, that's my life, nay, is life. (To check out the details in this pic, just click on it for a larger version.)

HOLDING OUT FOR HOPE

"Holding Out for Hope" (5-2-10 10052v7b) was just morphed from a very old morph of a seven year old pic. Not much else to say except that I like this color combo; somewhat unusual for my pix. And I find the lines/shapes intriguing.

NIGHT SECRETS

"Night Secrets" (5-2-10 10001v2) was just morphed this morning from a seven year old pic. One I've always cropped the behoositz out of, to isolate that sort of central blossom (orange now in this version, but white in the original). When I stumbled across the original pic today I had the urge to retain all of it, fussiness and everything else, and see just what I could do with it. It was quite a challenge as there is a lot of stuff going on in it, much of it in distracting colors and shapes. But I was quite pleased when "Night Secrets" popped on my screen (pretty much as it is above, with just some further fine tuning done). After all, the secrets the night holds are diverse, stimulating, and often very distracting, if I may wax poetic (kinda, sorta).

THE PROMISE

"The Promise" (5-27-17 015v2) was just fixed up a little bit from a pic taken a couple of days ago. Shots of this view have appeared here a lot. This one I particularly like because those delightful curving clouds echo the curving of the ocean waves against the shore. I tried lightening the dark sections at the left side/bottom, but it detracted somehow from the clouds and ocean when lighter. And that area did pretty much look this way live. Of course, as I've said here before, what is perceived "live" doesn't always work within the limits of a photo. 'Nuff said. I like the pic as it is.
