Road Trip is a few months old, just re-worked this morning. I have a particular fondness for the process these ferns undergo as they bud and unfurl.

Here's another from that same batch, also worked on today, Fan Dance:

And finally, same batch and re-done today, Fandango of the Frost:

In the Beginning is from the same old folder of photos as the picture I posted yesterday, just edited this morning. I've tried before to bring out what I imagine at the center of this sort of blossom. Still haven't quite captured the picture I have somewhere in the back of my mind, but this one is getting close.

Salud! is over two years old, just revised this morning. I'm not happy with the focus (it could be crisper), but I've always liked these amaryllis blooms. We usually have them in red in this same garden but didn't have any this year. I'd look for a photo I like more, but this is one of those days I doubt anything would really suit me. (I just had a hissy fit because it's begun taking Google a long time to load to my computer screen -- are they trying to take over the world???? All those various functions and that busy sidebar ... ack. Of course, it's really more the problem of my old computer. But I'm cranky and want to blame Google.)

Remembering All Who Died on 9/11 in the New York City Twin Towers Attack, and their families and friends, and with a deep hope that all rescuers and residents of the area during that time are healthy or have access to the best treatments.

Blowin' in the Wind was in the post yesterday to my dreams & poetry blog. I doubt (but would be happy to find) that someone is subscribed to both feeds. If so, I apologize for this recent repeat of a photo. My excuse? I just really like this picture. It's an old one I stumbled across that I'd completely forgotten about.

Yes, both this one above, Through the Peep Hole and the one later below are experimental. I went further than I usually do with editing, aiming for an even more watercolor-like and non-representational look. I suppose I should let them both cool a bit before posting them; they are both brand spanking new edits of old pictures. But it's also true that just the sharing can sometimes gel my feelings about a photo. So here they are.

This one below is called Walking on Coals. Even just leaving this one overnight has cooled my enthusiasm for it, but it still holds enough pull for me to post it:

Watercolor Memories is another over three year old photo, and I've had this edit of it done for some time now. It's one of those many edited pictures I've been underwhelmed by, but still liked enough to hold on to. In this case, it's the colors I like.

Not ever able to leave well enough alone I decided to see what else I could come up with for this photo. As I worked with the original (a distant shot, that includes lots of greenery and some pot edges around the full bloom) I was quickly refamiliarized with the cropping challenges it presents. So I moved in closer and came up with this version, In the Heat of the Moment:

I actually made two more versions this morning (one of the full bloom, problematic) and a re-coloring of "In the Heat of the Moment" in shades of purple (not so hot, if you'll pardon the pun). So I'll leave today's post at these two.
