HEAD IN THE CLOUDS

"Head in the Clouds" (10-09-09 7455v2g) was just now morphed from a very old version of an even older original pic of mine. Had lots of fun torturing it into this shape. And, frankly, if I had the time I'd probably go back to the original and try some others things I now feel inspired to try. (Saving this version, of course. :-D)

DIALOGUE OF THE TREE AND SERPENT

Nah, there's no reason I can see that I'm drawn to post "Dialogue of the Tree and Serpent" (4-13-18 022v2e) on Thanksgiving Day. All I can say is when I stumbled across it, looking for a pic of mine to send in a Thanksgiving email to some friends, I was delighted. It was just my cup of tea today to a post here. Convoluted, yet bearing that sense of huge things with very different, often conflicting aims, pausing long enough to notice the other actually exists as a separate entity! Hm, maybe that last sentence describes what happens around many a Thanksgiving Day table. BTW, I used an entirely different sort of pic in that Thanksgiving email. :-) Also, if you'd like to see all the fussy details in the above pic, just click on it for a larger version.

HEADING FOR HOME

"Heading for Home" (11-20-18 007v3) was just fudged today out of a pic that's several months old. I usually know when a pic was taken by its folder date. However, this one just showed up this morning on loading pix I took a couple days ago. That happens once in a great while. Some pix I've already loaded to my computer are not erased from my camera despite my selecting that option on loading them. Then they get re-loaded at a future date. I'd be more annoyed but every once in a great while I win and a gem is in the re-loaded ones. Or at least a pic like this one that I have some interest in working with. BTW, this was taken in that beach overlook park I so often post pix I took of the ocean there. In this one, the ocean is to the viewer's back. With the mountains way ahead in the distance ... to head towards them is, for me, to head literally towards home.

And here's another version of that same pic, that I may like more:

You may note I changed the height of that tree against the middle sky-line in the first version at the top of this post, as it stood out too much. But in this version immediately above, it's OK. Maybe not great, but OK. (I'm having a devil of time with my pix and poems these days.  I'm finding fault to a greater degree than I usually do -- and that's saying a lot, unfortunately.)

GUARDIAN OF THE CROSSROADS

"Guardian of the Crossroads" (10-10-18 003v2) was just "finalized." I thought it was time to put up a representational pic and have had this particular one hanging fire since I took it a bit over a month ago. I have considered it several times since snapping it, but knew it was going to be trouble. As that car was going to continue to stand out more than I would like, no matter how I fussed at it. And today that turned out to be true. But I still like the pic overall. Right now probably because I haven't been by this tree and corner in too many weeks and miss them. I often sit right across from this tree on my walker, and write or snap pix, and sometimes just wool gather as I watch the UCSB students roll on by. On bikes, or skateboards, and now it'll be those dang Birds! BTW, the roots of this tree are among those I often snap pix of and then morph the behoositz out of in Photoshop.
