EL NIÑO

"El Niño" (12-3-15 00v5g) was just morphed today along with many others from the same source pic (not to mention those already in the folder from previous go rounds with this pic). I was getting bleary eyed but just did not want to settle for one that didn't at least give me an initial "Yes!" Of course, part of the problem is just how over-edited this pic is by now (each version has been made from something suggested in the previous, rather than going back to the original and starting fresh). In any case, the initial "Yes!" I heard on seeing this version first appear on my screen has faded but not a whole lot. So I'm happy to post it.

WINTER WEAVING

"Winter Weaving" (12-8-15 009v6c) was just morphed today, along with a passel of other versions of the same pic. Nothing much else to say except that I'm starting off the New Year the same way I ended it (photomorphically speaking): chasing after what calls to me in a particular pic. And that's a wild hunt I'm very happy to continue to go on. BTW, this is one of those pix that looks better in a larger size (more of the "texture" shows up), so click on the image if you're interested.

HER BRAIN ON NEW YEAR'S DREAMS

"Her Brain on New Year's Dreams" (12-8-15 1689ev2) was just now morphed from a very old photo of mine that I'd copied from my blog view into a newer folder of pix. The pic is of a type of tree I really enjoy looking at and had hoped to do something with in a more realistic vein. Well, long story short, without tracking down the original post again (I no longer have the original pic itself) and copying it over from a browser view of it (rather than blog view which is what I already have), it's too small to work with at all as a straight forward tree photo. So I started fussing at it to see where else than "real" it might go. Like dreams, ey? We have our hopes and dreams, then reality gets a hold of them. And once in a while, even for the better. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

LAST MINUTE CRUSH

"Last Minute Crush" (6-28-09 2985v4b) is (as yesterday's was) from one of my oldest pix, just now morphed. I had a devil of a time getting anything today that felt at all post-worthy. Mostly because these old pix are hard to fudge much with as they were taken with such a low pixel count camera, and cropped, to boot. So they go wonky all too readily. I either then use a blur filter (which changes the pic a lot, and isn't always a solution), or give up and move on. Either way, the pic I'd begun to like doesn't happen. Why work at all with these old pix? Because something about them still calls to me whenever I have reason to look in an old folder. And once in a while it's worth the effort. (BTW, I can't always even go back to the unedited original versions of these old pix and start over. Somewhere in the first year I took pix, I began deleting the originals, thinking that was that, once I had an edited version of a photo. I caught on soon enough, and still find myself surprised when I can't find the original in an old folder as this was, thankfully, not something I did a whole lot for very long.)

FOLLOW ME!

"Follow Me!" was just morphed now from one of my very oldest pix. I was in the folder looking for a totally different pic I want to use in a photo exhibit I'm preparing for on 1-17. And got caught by this little "scene." I've posted the original for "Follow Me!" in a version that's hardly fussed with at all years ago. But found myself wanting to do something more today with all that climbing of a sheer wall. Not sure I've really managed that, but I did succeed in creating more contrast between the wall/fence and the greenery. And the ivy does seem as if it could be a wee bit "animated" now, maybe even enough to hail those succulents "looking up" at it. Smile.

DANCING FOR NEPTUNE

"Dancing for Neptune" (10-31-12 12238v4a) was morphed this morning from an old photo. What else to say about it except that it took quite some work to get to this point where I could let it be. And that I do sort of like it. But maybe mostly because of the little scene I see in its shapes (suggested in its title).

SPELUNKER'S DELIGHT

"Spelunker's Delight" (12-11-12 12258ev2) was morphed a while back from an old pic, during my archiving/deleting project. (Which project is still on-going, only at a snail's pace these days.) I just had to crop it a bit today and work on the contrast slightly. Kinda, sorta like it!
