NIGHT OF STARS

"Night of Stars" (10-11-09 7499v3) was just morphed this morning from one of my oldest pix. Nothing much else to say except that I do like it. I'm even resisting my critical eye's prompting to turn it into a vertical rectangle shape. Too many of those buds and blossoms get cut away when I try that, and it's not nearly as interesting (IMHO) as it loses that expanding galaxy look.

WHERE'S THE RAIN

"Where's the Rain" (5-28-16 003v4) is one I've had waiting around, ready for posting for a couple months. And, yes, ferns again! Love 'em. The fern this is of was getting raggedy, which meant I've been watching it closely. And just a day or two ago, I saw some new branches beginning to stick up their little unfurling heads from its middle. So be forewarned, new fern pix are probably on the way.

ISLA VISTA BEACH

"Isla Vista Beach" (7-18-16 015v2), another shot taken on that first walk to the beach I've been able to take in years. I did it again the following week, and am hoping to make it two times next week. Wish I were up to it today, but that would be pushing it. Though I could certainly use the tremendous mood uplift it provides.

LET YOUR FREAK FLAG FLY

"Let Your Freak Flag Fly" (7-26-16 001v2a) is a brand new pic, just fussed with yesterday. Another photo taken from that balcony overlooking our community's pool. That yellow "blossom" at the base of the fronds is as it was live (i.e., not Photoshopped).

AT THE OVERLOOK

"At the Overlook" (7-25-16 008v4) was just taken yesterday and worked on this morning. Although I do like it, I still have problems with the "light." I.e., I'm not quite content with the overall color cast, but haven't been able to get what I'm seeking. The sort of painting-like effect is fun, though. BTW, I didn't use any particular painting-like Photoshop filter to get it. It's the result of a bunch of different filters I applied.

LAST LIGHT

"Last Light" is a brand new pic, just edited yesterday. This is one of those palms I'm always trying to get good shots of from a second floor balcony across the pool (the pool is out of frame in the right foreground of this shot). I took it from my seat at a poolside jazz performance. I haven't fully captured how that palm glittered in the sun as it was getting very low in the sky. But this version comes close enough.
