PARTIAL ECLIPSE; PAINT POT; & MEDALLION

"Partial Eclipse" (6-19-14 004vb4) above, is from a very new photo, along with the other two posted here today. The original, once cropped and cleaned up, set off a lengthy series of experiments in Photoshop.

Below is "Paint Pot" (6-19-14 004v7):

And last below is "Medallion" (6-19-14 004v9):

I'm somewhat more partial (pardon the unintended pun) to "Partial Eclipse."

ESCAPE VELOCITY

"Escape Velocity" (6-15-11 11127v2) appeared some time ago on my dreams & poetry blog, and probably here also but in another version. I was looking for something to post that I hadn't looked at or fussed over recently when I stumbled on "Escape Velocity." And it didn't even cry out for any tweaking. Which with my older pix is not usually the case.

EVANESCENT

There's a bunch of things I like about "Evanescent" (4-25-11 10768v11). The preponderance of fuchsia, the sweep of the stamens, and especially that sketchy oil pastel look behind an appearance of ink line drawing. By the way, this is another version of the original for the pic I posted yesterday -- cropped and tilted differently, with several different Photoshop filters applied and colors worked on in MS Picture Manager.

WHISKERS!

"Whiskers!" (4-25-11 10768v2) may look vaguely familiar. It's one of several renderdings of the same old photo, a couple of which I posted here some time ago. This one really puts me in mind of a startled cat face. Which may be a conflict in terms, actually. At least in my experience. Cats may startle bodily, popping off suddenly in some odd direction. But their faces usually seem rather impassive. :-)

THE INEVITABILITY OF SPRING

"The Inevitability of Spring" (9-13-10 10050ev8) is a new version of a very old photo. One for which I've posted other versions here. In this one I worked to get that sort of oil painting look as well as experimenting with new color ranges. I also turned it 90 degrees to get more of a sense of rising.

WAVING GOODBYE

"Waving Goodbye" (6-2-14 007v3) is a new photo, just re-visioned this morning. Nothing much to say about it except I'm frequently drawn to take pix of the last petals on a rose. Then when I see them on my computer screen there's not often much left of interest in them. As if in making it from live to jpeg image they'd deteriorated even more. So if I do anything at all with them (other than hit delete), I fuss at them thoroughly in Photoshop. As I did this one, with which I am now content.

DRIPPING WITH LIGHT

"Dripping With Light" (6-3-14 002v5) was just wrestled from a very small corner of the pic I posted two versions of here the day before yesterday. Better not say anything else about it lest I get into my all too frequent apologia disguised as discussion. I like it and that's that.
