BELLY DANCER

"Belly Dancer" (3-25-17 010v2) was just taken yesterday and worked on right now. Not much done. Just some cropping and color work (to bring out contrasts, i.e., no changing of colors), and a wee bit of diffusing and sharpening. I love this willow. It's one of two I frequently sit under on my walker to rest on my way to and/or from the beach overlook. I've tried to get decent realistic pix of both of them many times without much success. So when I came up this time with (at least) three that are more or less cool in their "natural state" I was quite happy. I'm also looking forward to thoroughly fudging them into less or maybe completely non-representational versions. All those lines and curves and shadows to play around with, oh my!

OH WHAT A SPIN YOU'VE GOT ME IN

"Oh What A Spin You've Got Me In" (12-6-09 8515e) was just fixed up a little bit from an extremely old version of one of my earliest pix. I've always liked it and have probably posted it here in at least one earlier realistic version. I know I've posted some of the abstract versions I've made out of the original.

SPRING LOW TIDE

"Spring Low Tide" (3-11-17 025v2) was just fixed up a wee bit from a very new pic. A bit of cropping, color saturation, and sharpening. Everything is now so lush there (everywhere) after all the rain. Wish you could also hear the birds! Their tweets and songs come from just about every bush. I find myself imitating them as best as I can. (When I'm alone here; wouldn't want anyone to know how crazy I am.) Some desire to get in on the conversation, maybe? :-)

GOO-GOO EYES

"Goo-Goo Eyes" (3-21-15 010v11g) was just morphed from (do I have to type it? :-D) a really old version of an even older pic. I just so enjoy working with and looking at these shapes. They've always resembled little goggle eyed ghosts to me. So even in the many versions I've retained them. I just fool around with colors and contrasts. And to a lesser degree texture; in this one, there's a wee bit of blurring. Getting to this version kept me focused for the time I worked on it, even on a day when I'm headed off an emotional cliff. Yes, even making goo-goo eyes can be a very sad experience.

BLOOD MOON; & CORNERED

"Blood Moon" (12-23-10 10194v2a) was just now morphed from (yes) a very old version of a much older pic. I was going to post that realistic version (cleaned up a bit) but I had an urge then to really fuss with it. And I had a great deal of fun getting to "Blood Moon." Even though ultimately the imaginings it generates in me are sad. Hm, as I typed that I thought it might be interesting to post that realistic version for comparison ("Cornered" 12-23-10 10194v2):

SUNRISE IN PARADISE

"Sunrise in Paradise" (5-16-11 10977v3c) was just fussed out of an old version of a very old pic. My feelings about it are even more polarized than is usual with my pix. I really like some things about it, and really dislike others. BWL (big wry laugh), that's sort of like my reaction to my life here in "Paradise" these days. (I've probably mentioned this here before: "Paradise" is what the Santa Barbara area of CA -- where I live -- is sometimes called.)

THE PAST EMERGENT

"The Past Emergent" (3-11-17 019v2) is quite new and just fussed into shape now. I have no idea if anyone else will see in those rocks at the bottom what I do: the fossil head of, say, a T-Rex, or better yet, a dragon, being revealed by the outgoing tide, "looking" toward the viewer? LOL. Never said I didn't have an imagination.
