A LADY LONG MISSED

The name of this really old pic ("A Lady Long Missed" 12-23-11 11402e[2]) says it all. I do miss this statue. She's been gone for years from our Promenade garden. Long enough for me to have trouble remembering if she was part of a bird bath. She was. All I had to do was recall other pix I took of her at a distance to see the bath in my mind's eye. Photography review as a mnemonic exercise. LOL! Not such bad idea for this very stressed out 75 year old.

SUMMER TREE

"Summer Tree" (7-5-09 3326v8a[2]) is a nine year old pic that's been in this version for almost as long. All I did today was crop it a wee bit to improve the visual balance (that "trunk" is now more centered). BTW, I'm hoping to have some brand new pix to share here soon, just taken a few days ago. But not sure, as things in my life are a bit up in the air these days. I also have that new camera of mine (relatively new, it's been hanging fire awaiting set up for a long time, which I finally did a day ago) to try out, as well. And a friend has found the book that goes with that ancient version of Photoshop (version 6) that he gave me, so maybe I'll be producing some better pix in general once I'm able to use a more sophisticated editing program than Windows 10's Photos.

TWIST IT ANY WAY YOU WANT, IT'S STILL A TREE

"Twist It Any Way You Want, It's Still A Tree" (7-28-09 4560v4[2]) is a slight re-working of a very old pic of mine. Mostly, I just darkened the shadows as that seems to emphasize the "twist" of this tree trunk. Actually, I may like the darkening because it reflects my mood. In any case, I haven't seen this tree "live" in a very long time, maybe well over a year or more. And hopes of ever standing next to it again fade daily. Yeah, a friend could drive me there but even getting in and out of a car is quite a challenge now. As I believe I've said here before, I'm grateful to have so many photos of the glorious trees I used to meet on my long walks.
