THERE'S GOLD IN THEM THAR HILLS!

"There's Gold In Them Thar Hills!" (2-08a-14 003v3) was just re-worked from a several year old version of an old pic. It's fun to revisit these really old pix of mine and find my editing skills have advanced just enough to improve a problematic pic I just could not let go of. That's not to say I think this one is fully up to snuff, but it's a lot closer to what I actually saw that day and not so blurry. Some friends and I always sit by the dining room window and were astounded to see these gold hills. I rushed out to get at least a somewhat closer, less obstructed shot of this sunset. Especially as, for once, a sight like this was not a wild fire. BTW, try clicking on the image for a larger, better view.

THE WORLDS JUST ABOVE OUR HEADS

"The Worlds Just Above Our Heads" (2-18-15 009v6) was just morphed from an old pic. What else to say about it as I've obviously tortured it in Photoshop. And (as always) had a good time doing so ... despite a deeply crazy full moon state of mind and heart. And I'd even lay some of my extra body pain at the feet of this upcoming Strawberry Full Moon, given the inter-relatedness of body and mind. Sometimes I do really think there are other worlds, just above our heads if we'd only look. Like I did the day I took the original pic beneath today's morph: I looked, really looked at the ceiling of our retirement community's B-Lounge.

HUNGER STARTS IN THE EYES

I apologize immediately for "Hunger Starts in the Eyes" (2-28-15 002v10k). I'm pretty danged sure only I can like it, and I do. Makes me laugh, with some sadness because of the bit of truth in the title. Clearly, I've morphed it endlessly in Photoshop (and had a fun time doing so!). BTW, the original is over three years old, and even the morphed version I worked with is nearly that old, too. Love making new incarnations of old pix!

EVERY WHICH WAY BUT HOME

"Every Which Way But Home" (5-13-18 034v2g) is a newish morph, just now further fudged with. I thought to post another of those realistic shots I took on a recent long walk, but none appealed to me today. Not that I find this one all that satisfying, but I do feel rather "abstracted," if you will, so in that way it suits my mood at least. If not my critical eye. Which seems only to become more and more critical as I age. I'd like to think it's just the result of learning more about art and that would be OK. But I'm not sure. As I age, I'm also getting grouchier, over all. Ah well, at least the actual process of working on pix and poems is still a delight. It's only when I begin to think of something as "finished" that the critic can -- more and more often -- speak up and get cantankerous.
