MANTA RAY

"Manta Ray" (3-21-15 019v3) is a brand new morph of a pic taken yesterday afternoon. And, yes, I have a couple other versions already. Oh, and yes, also, it's of a fern branch. I just so enjoy their patterns. Here's a link to one of the other versions ("Tiger By The Tail") that I posted to my tarot blog as a card in what I've been calling "The Found Tarot."

RECOLLECTING

"Recollecting" (2-18-10 19938v7) is one of those pix I kept expecting would go wonky on me. I fussed and fussed at it this morning, endlessly. Not to mention that I have, as always, several other versions of the original source pic that kept grabbing my attention and mouse. However, it wasn't until I flipped this one on its head that I realized what it was that had been urging me to keep messing with it 'til I caught it.

THE LONG VIEW

"The Long View" (3-19-15 004v6) was taken and morphed today. I couldn't even count if I wanted to how many pix I take of this view. I keep trying to get a good photo of the building under construction that will eventually obstruct this view. But haven't succeeded yet. There's way too much going on, just about all of which I cropped out of this pic. A lamp pole, dark trees on either side, a busy street in front, not to mention that building construction. And the overpass from which I take the shots is not very long, so I can only move and change the angle of a pic very slightly. But the sky in the shots today was intriguing, therefore, this morph.

BUTTERFLY

I might have gone too far with "Butterfly" (2-18-10 19938v7f). Now that I see it in blogger I'm not as jazzed about it as when I first morphed it this morning. Then again, it's one of those pix that looks best in a larger version. So try clicking on it if you'd like to see it in a bigger size. I also must admit that I was mostly drawn to post it today because it reminds me of black light posters. Yup, that harks back a few decades, doesn't it? To my hippie years, actually.

FLIRTATIOUS

"Flirtatious" (2-28-15 002v10c) ... what can I say, I see lipsticked lips, and eyelashes with mascara in this one. It's one of (wait for it) many other versions from the same original rather new pic. Smile, that's the story of my life, I just can't leave anything well enough alone.

INTO THE WOODS

"Into The Woods" (2-7-10 19448v2) is a brand new morph of an old original pic unearthed in my on-going archiving/deleting work. Complaint alert! More and more I find that shades and intensities of colors are different when viewed in this blogger program, than in MS Picture Manager and Photoshop. In this instance, the blue/deep aqua is just enough different in blogger for it to lose a bit of its sort of moon/star-light shimmer, if you will. Won't my face be red if I ever find out this has more to do with my aging eyes than various programs? In any case, I'm off now to delve further into the internet/computer woods and do some less interesting work, though sometimes equally if differently frustrating.

HUMMINGBIRD

"Hummingbird" (2-29-15 002v10c) is a new morph of a rather new pic, for which I've already made several other versions. The original is not of a hummingbird, the other lines and shapes in the pic just wound up suggesting one to my eye as I fudged with it. We have a hummingbird nest in a ficus tree on the Promenade of our grounds right now. (In fact, that tree on the far left of the unfussed with pic I posted yesterday.) Although I've tried getting shots of the nest and the little beak I see poking up from it, it's a huge challenge. Nature's genius design is doing it's job, making the nest very hard to see much less capture in a photo. At least for this amateur with a simple compact digital camera and little tech savvy. Not to mention that each year I'm very concerned about disturbing the mother at her nest whatever tree she's in, so that I stand at quite a remove. In any case, that's why I've got hummingbirds on the brain today ...
