RAIN BLOSSOM

Another old photo just edited this morning, Rain Blossom (3-18-11). It occurs to me that maybe I went with a rainy idea because we so need rain here in south/central CA. Wishful thinking, ey? We're having lovely fall weather but a steady downpour would be much more welcome.

MOUNTAIN TWILIGHT

The original photo for Mountain Twilight (9-23-13) is very new. This is the third version of it I've fooled around with. Believe it or not once this version showed up on my computer screen I immediately thought of watching twilight arrive over the mountains here. The second version calls up midnight over those same mountains, but I can't get the colors right (one of its blues just stays too neon for my taste no matter what I do) so I'm not posting it.

SHE SELLS SEASHELLS ...

She Sells Seashells... (10-3-13) is yet another from the same old folder of pix I've been hooked on. And it's also another I have very mixed feelings about. I really like the color combinations and swirls. But I'm not sure about the overall composition. Yet I like it enough not to want to fuss with it any further. So here it is, "warts and all."

WALTZ OF THE WATER NYMPH

The original for Waltz of the Water Nymph (10-03-09) is in that same old folder of pix I posted from yesterday. It's happened before that I get "stuck" in a particular folder. Something about the images and/or what I'm doing to them keeps calling and I keep answering. There's a couple more yet I've made recently from these four year old pix. Given my mood I'm grateful something grabs my interest enough to encourage action. If only to mess around with old photos and make them unrecognizable.

SLIDE INTO EVENING; & THE LAST THREAD

Slide Into Evening (10-3-09) is another very old photo of mine, just re-worked this morning. Much like yesterday's, it's always drawn my interest but had lots of distracting "schmutz" in the background I had to be willing to use a couple of methods to get rid of. And for some reason, the editing out I did of background showed through a wee bit on first posting here. Never had that happen before. Even after going over that background editing, those vague bits of green are more apparent than when I view the photo in any other program. (And there are little spots I may go after someday, but it's a chore as they don't even show up in the program I need to use!) There's also a little focus issue on the petals, even after sharpening a wee bit. However, the color has me totally seduced, along with the curves of the petals, and those pert stamens and pistils lifting up. So I'm posting it, flaws and all.

As often happens, I couldn't leave this photo at only one version, so here's the other one I just made, The Last Thread (10-3-09):
