THROUGH THE VEIL

"Through the Veil" (10-7-14 009v7) is just one of several versions morphed out of the same new photo. Not much to say about it. Except that both the pic and the title reflect the time of year we're just about at. When the veil between the worlds is said to be thin, and that's why the ghosties and ghoulies are nearer (i.e., Halloween/Samhain).

BIRTH OF A SUN

Not surprising I'd come up with something referencing sunlight. I've been coping with the most intense Seasonal Affect Disorder I've had in several years. And in a weird way I find "Birth of A Sun" (10-7-14 009v3c) a wee bit comforting.

BUILDING THE DREAM

What can I say? I got bored with pix turning out too much like others I've done. Not that I've not produced somewhat similar effects to those in "Building the Dream" (4-10-13 12431v5c) maybe a half dozen times before. But this time, I took them quite a bit further. (I hasten to add only half a dozen pix with similar effects is nothing. Given my penchant for making many versions of the same photo, and that I have thousands of pix, all worked on at least once.) Today's results get quite a bit more than a "meh" rating in my eyes, but a little less than "way cool!" :-)

SEEPING; & SHATTERING

"Seeping" (10-7-14 013v5f) above, is another of those taken yesterday in the over-bright noon-day sun. But I've had great fun messing with many of those "failed" pix in Photoshop. "Seeping" being one of them. Below is another version of the same pic, "Shattering" (10-7-14 0135fd):

THE HEART OF THE WOOD; & [untitled]

"The Heart of the Wood" (10-7-14 008v5g) was just taken and fussed with today. Taking pix in the noon day sun is a challenge, to say the least. I tried shading with my body, which sometimes works but did not this time. And I took some shots in the full light. One or two of those is decent (of course, those didn't have any really light colored areas to glare). If nothing else, I had an enjoyable time hobbling around the rose garden on a beautiful day. Oh, the original for "The Heart of the Wood" is of a dying rose that I snapped both shaded and unshaded, with the intention of seeing what I could get out of it's unusual shapes and shadows in Photoshop. And here's another version of it, as yet untitled:

THE SERPENTS IN THE GARDEN

"The Serpents in the Garden" (8-5-09 5006v2) is an old morph of an even older photo. I remember working on it and then just leaving it be, not satisfied. But when I stumbled across it this morning in search of something to post, to my surprise I liked it! Guess my underlying sort of dark mood is at the helm. So be it. At least I can be comfortable with what I post today. And during the long search before I found this one I wasn't sure I would even make a post. (BTW, the twisty shape of that tree is how it grew, i.e. it's not Photoshopped.)

BUTTERFLY FAN; & THE MEMORY RISES

Although I do like the lines and shapes in "Butterfly Fan" (4-25-11 10768v10m) above, I'm mostly posting it because it's an unusual color family for me to settle on. The original old photo I morphed it from has me captured today. I've already made several other versions, including "The Memory Rises" (4-25-11 10768v10j) below:

There's another version (click here to see it) on my dreams & poetry blog also just made and posted this morning. As I've said here before I'm sure, I sometimes get mildly obsessed with the possibilities of a particular image. Collecting images for it the way I do Tarot decks. But at least photomorphs are free. :-) Well, maybe at the cost of an achy right wrist and thumb.
