SNARING THE MOON
"Snaring the Moon" (6-28-09 2988v4c[2]) is yet another old pic, revised today for the umpteenth time over the years. And I'm still not sure about it. But some version of it always grabs me when I open the folder and revisit the more than dozen versions I've made of it since first taking it ten years ago. Which makes the title for today's rendering quite appropriate. :-)

ON THE WAY HOME
"On the Way Home" (8-16-16 014v2[2]) was just fussed into this form from an old version of an old pic of mine. When I first stumbled on it I was excited. I liked it! And even found it surprising I'd not posted it before here. But that lasted only a minute (if that) when the various problems with it jumped out at me. The biggest I fixed by simply cropping it out. However, then I was faced with a color contrast problem and other little annoying things. This version is a compromise. There's still stuff I'd like to improve if I had the time, but I want to share it today. Mostly because it reminds me of all those long walks I used to be able to take. Most often I'd take the route home that led past this tree and building. (The parking field next to the retirement community I live in is not even a full block past this stretch.) I haven't given up hope altogether that I'll be able to take long(ish) walks again. It's just that the likelihood of that gets less and less.

WINTERBLOOM
"Winterbloom" (Screenshots 1-25-19[36]) was just fussed out of a very old version of an even older pic of mine. Nothing much else to say about it. Except maybe to pick at it, as I was doing for about 45 minutes as I edited and re-edited, before deciding to post it here in this version. My biggest problem? As always, with focus. I can't find the right balance between a faint blur and a necessary clarity. I'm fairly certain if I had that old Photoshop program under my belt, so to speak, I could accomplish that. However, I still have not found the energy and time to deal with learning that ancient PS version I now have on my computer. And, as I've been saying here again and again, I have to settle (for now) for what I can do with Windows 10's Photos program. I also wonder, ever more often, if my slowly advancing cataracts aren't messing with my perception of photo focus. Kinda, sorta like life in general, ey? We aim for the best and settle (more or less graciously :-D) for what we can get.
