LET'S PUT OUR HEADS TOGETHER

I don't think of "Let's Put Our Heads Together" (3-1-14 022v2) as any great shakes as a pic. But it does always give me a little laugh when I come across it. I often take pix to see if I can capture what strikes me as amusing about a scene, but only occasionally succeed. At least, for any viewer other than myself, I'm afraid. Anyway, I'd thought I'd give this one a chance to spread some mirth today so I worked on it to make it presentable. It's also a bit sentimental as the chairs are like that because it was a rainy day (an attempt to keep the seats dry for afterwards). Rain? In drought ridden CA? Yeah, I remember rain ...

BORN OF THE LIGHT

"Born of the Light" (10-7-15 003v3h) was just completed this morning, from a different shot of the same fern pictured here yesterday. Yeah, I went a bit nuts with the "liquify" filter. I was initially just trying to explore its ways (which I hadn't really done before but superficially). Not intending to produce something printable/postable. But wound up with a slew of different versions of the same source pic after further heavy morphing with other filters and such. Not sure what I ultimately think of any of them, even this one which (right now) is my favorite of the batch. However, I am sure I like the feeling I get from this one. It's much how I feel when looking down into that constantly unfurling fern.

FOUND PEACOCK

"Found Peacock" (10-7-15 006v5) was just morphed today from a new photo. As I've said many times here before, I so enjoy looking at and taking pix of ferns. (Especially this large one that I pass at least twice each day.) BTW, this heavily fudged pic is one of those that is best viewed in a larger version because of the details. Just click on the image if you're interested.

MEDUSA ON DREAMS

"Medusa on Dreams" (12-6-09 8517v7) is, again, from a very old pic and, also again, one of several versions I made this morning. It was fun to have Medusa show up. She's been one of my most favorite mythological characters since early childhood. And I haven't thought of or dreamed about her in quite some time. As to how I wound up "seeing" her today? This photo has had the behoositz fudged out of it in Photoshop and I had great fun doing it. Even dealing with some degradation that, understandably enough, started to creep in. There's only so many twists and turns a pic can go through. Smile.

RAMBLIN' ROSE

"Ramblin' Rose" (12-6-09 8515v2j) is another morph of one of my oldest pix, just made today. (One, as ever, of several new versions, hot off the press.) I frequently give the "rough pastels" filter a shot but rarely like it. However, this is one of the times that I do. That blurriness (from the "surface blur" filter applied prior to the pastel filter) adds a sort of depth I often miss with the pastel filter. BTW, also beneath the "rough pastel" filter is a host of other filters and such I'd applied. Including all that I'd done years ago to the pic version I started with today. Then there's all the color adjustments I made this morning. It's rather surprising this pic didn't go totally wonky long before I came to this version.

ROSE OF AUTUMN

"Rose of Autumn" (5-27-15 018v5) is actually from a spring pic this year of a lovely deep magenta rose. I think I've posted it, if not here, to my dreams & poetry blog in other versions in that original color. But when looking for something to work on and post today this one's ruffly petals and bright center really grabbed me. So I imposed my fall mood on it by fudging with the color. Then felt it needed some "texturing" to liven it up. Smile.

DIVING INTO THE NIGHT

"Diving Into the Night" (8-18-15 004vd) was morphed this morning from a fairly new pic. Actually, from a version I'd just morphed of it previously. I realize I talk about this a lot here, but I do so enjoy how one pic version suggests I try something further, and that one, suggests more I could do, and on and on. No pic seems to ever truly be done suggesting further versions. As to this one, it reflects the Halloween mood I've been in for a few days now. When these shapes first showed on my screen I thought of sea birds diving for fish. And immediately after that thought of them as ghosts and ghoulies. The latter's the image that stuck as I worked on texture and what colors to stress. This is one of those pix that looks a bit better (crisper, if you will) in a larger version. So, if you'd like, click on the image to see it in a bigger size.
