THE HAUNTED

"The Haunted" (5-25-09 [2nd folder] 1726v6) was just morphed this morning from a very old pic, one of my earliest ever. And it clearly picks up the Halloween theme hinted at in yesterday's post. I didn't set out to produce a spooky pic. Its forms as I fudged with it just began to suggest it. And once I got the scent, I was off and running (so to speak).

PUMPKIN FLY

"Pumpkin Fly" (4-29-12 11821v9h) was just morphed today from an old version of an even older pic. I guess I'm in a Halloween mood already, as today's post to my dreams & poetry blog also references pumpkins (and a costume). I'm not over the moon (not even a full, spooky one) about this pic, but it'll do on a day when I can't seem to produce anything but "kinda, sorta like 'em" types of pix.

OLD WORLD MAP

"Old World Map" (9-2-09 6439v2k) is a recent morph made from one of my oldest pix. (And, as usual, it's in the company of many other -- widely different -- versions from the same source pic.) Nothing much to say about this one. It's not a huge favorite of mine, but something about it is pleasing. Maybe it's the sort of mythological feel I get from it. As if there should be notations on it of where centaurs live, and so on.

THE APOLOGY

"The Apology" (5-18-11 11002r) was just morphed this morning from the photo I posted yesterday. It's one of 19 versions I've tortured from the one source pic, most of them today. Yet I had to drag myself away from a temptation to keep going. And only succeeded in doing so as I'm getting bleary eyed. It's just that it's such fun to get lost in wrestling new forms out of pix.

SCONCE

"Sconce" (5-18-11 11002e 640X430) is from a very old pic, just fixed up this morning. I know I say this about other flora around here, but I simply adore these little calla lilies. What can I say? I'm fickle. (BTW, I'm still very uncertain about these new cropping dimensions but will wait. I particularly want to see how prints ordered of pix cropped in a 640X430 proportion turn out before making my decision. I.e., I'm not all that sanguine that the website I've been using -- which has led me to this pass -- will even print 640X430 pix without messing with their crops.)

ROUGH SEAS AHEAD

Oy! The first thing I thought as the title "Rough Seas Ahead" (8-18-15 004v8) occurred to me is that I hope that's not an intuition. (Seasonal Affect Disorder has started for me. Maybe it won't get much worse as it's done the past few years here. Especially given the drought -- i.e., meaning endless sunny days.) But to the pic, clearly lots of fussing done to it. It's another of those pix I just can't leave alone. I keep coming back to its various versions and re-morphing them. Lazy? Maybe. But today it's more that I'm terribly rushed for time but did want to put up something new. So it's often (but not always) less time consuming to start with a pic I've already worked on a lot. Some sort of framework is already established. Oh, and this pic is cropped in those new dimensions of 640 X 430 that I explained yesterday. And still not liking it (too narrow). But I'll give myself more time to see if I will get used to it.

ERASING THE NIGHT

"Erasing the Night" (9-22-15 023v3) is another new photo and morph thereof. I really like the pic, but I'm not at all sure about the proportionate dimensions of this crop. (640 X 430 pixels, which is sort of skinny, if you will. I've been cropping to the proportions that come to 640 X 480 for years.) Way too much to go into here but I've been having a huge problem with the website I've used for years to print my pix, having to do with a sudden change in how they print pix. This change in my cropping dimensions is one way around it. But I'm not sure I'm willing to live with this adjustment in the proportionate dimensions that I've been cropping to for so long. Not even if I have to start biting the bullet and print out my pix myself. Of course, ink is outrageously expensive. Not to mention that the quality of pic and paper is a bit better via the website. What a pickle. Oh, and, yes, I'm checking out other websites but don't have much hope things will be any better there.
