A CALIFORNIA WINTER BOUQUET

"A California Winter Bouquet" (12-9-16 037v2) is from the same batch as yesterday's pic. I love these trees and this is the first time I've approached them from this side. There's actually just two trees here (the right quarter or so of the pic is one of them). The original is a very busy, big shot (streets, cars, buildings, phone wires running through the lower portion of these trees, etc.) taken from across the street. I'd have crossed my fingers as I took the several shots of these beauties if I could have. I also was worried about the distance I had to take them from to get in the wide sweep of the upper branches and leaves, with me standing on the ground. And these two tree's sweep is actually even wider than shows in this shot. I may some time post another pic I have that shows it more fully. But that one took in a blurring sun spot on the left I could not satisfactorily deal with in post production.

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

"Stairway to Heaven" (12-9-16 022v5) was just fudged now from one of those pix I mentioned I'd taken yesterday in Isla Vista's Aniskoyo Park. The title may be a bit of an over-statement, at least considering how I'm feeling today (Ack!). But yesterday, it could well have applied. I obviously heavily edited this pic, and I sort of like the vague pointillist effect it wound up having. It also, to me, resembles (a wee bit) an old Japanese brush painting.

SETTING THE NIGHT ON FIRE

"Setting the Night On Fire" (12-6-09 8517v7f) ... what can I say about it that I haven't said of many other pix? New morph of old version of one of my oldest pix, with lots of other versions from other wanderings through its folder keeping it company. Not sure what I like about it. Well, not totally true. I really like the colors and kinda sorta like the texture. But it's missing something. Ah well, no time to fuss further (it'd go wonky anyway, it's so over-edited) or find a different pic to pick at. So I've put this one up, even though it doesn't really set anything on fire for me (smile). BTW, hopefully I'll have some new realistic pix to post from soon. I took a lot today on a long walk.

LEAPING FOR JOY

"Leaping for Joy" (8-23-09 5998v10a) was just now morphed from (yep!) a really old version of one of my oldest pix. And (can you guess?) the folder it's in is filled with other old versions. Another one of those pix I find endlessly intriguing. BTW, I'd not have given one red cent that I'd produce an "upbeat" morph now. The post to my dreams&poetry blog is about dealing with personal demons. This contrast leads me to wonder (and not for the first time) if at some unconscious level I'm often reacting to the time in my life that I took a pic when I re-morph it. This one's source photo was taken at a very happy time.

LIFE AT THE EDGE

"Life at the Edge" (12-6-16 003v2) was just taken a couple of days ago and fussed into acceptable shape this morning. I'm not sure about the size and placement of that mound of dry brush. But I've tried several different crops already and each introduces some other issue to deal with. So I think I'll leave it alone, at least for today. As I do like the overall feel of the pic.

THERE GOES HER HEART

"There Goes Her Heart" (5-25-09 v13i) was just morphed from a pic that's gone through several morphs since taking back in 2009. What else to say; it's obviously edited to the max. And I used a filter I rarely use as I always feel a need to further fuss with its effects: pixelate/pointillize. In this case, I diffused the filter's effect several times to soften and irregularize (is that even a word? smile) the resulting little pieces flying off in all directions.

PENELOPE'S WEFT & WARP

"Penelope's Weft & Warp" (3-28-16 001v2k) was just now morphed from an old version of a ten month old pic. It sort of tickles me, mostly all those white orderly little lines. It's actually the result of inverting the colors on another version I made today and posted to my dreams&poetry blog. I think I like this version better, but the other reflects my mood (and the less said about that, the better).
