SIBLINGS, ALL

"Siblings, All" (4-21-16 003v3) is a very new pic. All I did to it today was crop it way down to the center of the cactus, and do a little diffusing and sharpening, and, if I recall, a wee bit of color saturation. I have three other almost abstract versions that I made today, as well. But am happy to have a realistic pic to post. So I'll save the heavily fudged with versions for other posts. (I have to admit to being troubled by the shadows in the lower left corner. I did try several different way of adjusting those but other dark areas I did not want touched also got lightened.)

PASSING STORM

"Passing Storm" (6-28-09 2985v4m) is from an old version of one of my oldest pix ever. And it's really just the point at which I gave up on a long struggle to produce something I could be happy posting today. It's not terrible, but "not terrible" is really not good enough as far as I'm concerned. However, I haven't got the energy or inclination to work anymore so here it is. Barely passing muster, just like me today.

THE WOODS AWAKEN

"The Woods Awaken" (10-6-10 10027ev5a) was just morphed this morning from a really old version of an even older pic. Not much else to say about it as it's so obviously heavily fussed with. I'd tried finding a photo that was ready to post as I'm low on time this morning. But it just wasn't happening as I went through folder after folder. So I accepted my fate and settled on this one to morph. Took more time than I wanted, but I was finally able to wake it up enough that it actually says something I like at least a bit.

REST FOR THE WEARY

The original for "Rest for the Weary" (5-2-16 002v4) is from the same new batch as yesterday's, and morphed just now. It was a long winding road to this repose, through version after version, only one of which I saved and I'm not sure about that one at all. However, I do like "Rest for the Weary." (And I like it a whole lot more than yesterday's post -- what was I thinking when I put it up?)

REMEMBERING HOW TO LAUGH

"Remembering How To Laugh" (5-2-16 003v2c) was just now morphed from a brand new pic. I had hoped to leave it realistic but it just wasn't happening. At least not today. As always, I still have the original and will almost certainly go back to it some day and see if I can do better by its small red-orange rose. In the meantime, I'm somewhat content with today's morph. It tickles me and laughter is always welcome.

SPRING STEPS FORWARD

"Spring Steps Forward" (5-2-16 009v4) was just taken a couple days ago and fussed with this morning. These trees were tossing so wonderfully in the wind it almost made me want to use the 30 second movie function on my camera. As long as I was trying to get shots of these trees I didn't even feel how cold the wind was making me. (That hit me once I stopped snapping and had to leave the balcony I was on for a warmer clime.) I've already got several other versions of other shots of them, but so far, this is the one I like the most.

LIKE MOTHS TO A FLAME

"Like Moths to a Flame" (4-13-13 1246v4a) was just morphed today from an old version of an older pic. That old version's been sitting in its folder for years, just waiting for me to do something with it, already! Today I took on the challenge. And I'm happy to say I'm glad I did. Even if it does have a funny sort of composition that keeps flipping on me visually, though. One minute those seeds look centered, and the next they look slightly off. I can see why it does that, but there's nothing for it (any further cropping creates other imbalances) but to enjoy the pic anyway. And I do.
