THE HEART TAKES A TUMBLE

"The Heart Takes A Tumble" (9-20-14 016v2c) was just morphed from an old pic. And it took for freakin' ever! Normally I'd have given up and gone on to some other pic. But I'm feeling more than usually stubborn today. And to be really honest, I liked losing my self in the intense concentration that chasing after something I sense in a pic can require on occasion. Even if it's also a frustrating experience, as it was today. Better frustration than the deep sorrow I've been living with for so long. BTW, I'd suggest clicking on the image to see the little details.

HIGH STEPPERS

"High Steppers" (8-10-14 011v2) was just fudged today out of an old pic I've always liked but had big problems with. I finally took the time today to try to work them out and have, for the most part, succeeded. Even though some of the work involved (ack!) painting out distractions.

A POT FULL OF AUTUMN

"A Pot Full of Autumn" (8-10-14 008v6g) was just morphed recently from a pic rediscovered doing my archiving/deleting work. I'm really having a hard time holding the number of pix on my computer down to no more than 12,000. Between totally new pix I take, and these old ones I create new versions of it's a real challenge. And I don't like archiving anything but pix I'm highly doubtful I'll want but think I should keep. Such as pix of people, and I take very few of those. But, no matter, the archiving/deleting process is netting me some pix I really like for posting here. Either ones all ready for use, or calling on me to fuss at them or sometimes to make new versions all together.

ESCAPE INTO THE LIGHT

Yep, another fern pic ("Escape into the Light" 8-16-14 007v2). Can't help it. Luv 'em all, every way and any light in which they unfurl and fade away! And that's all I have to say about this photo (for a change :-D).

WINTER'S ON THE WAY

"Winter's on the Way" (10-11-16 019v2) is a brand new pic, just fussed with. Full color just didn't do it; looked messy. Once I tried black and white it began to shape up. But I still had to fuss with shadows and such, as I wanted certain details to stay really apparent (the twigs and the fence pattern). I tried increasing the contrast but that made the pic too stark and it lost that "old timey," foggy memory feeling as well.

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

"Stairway to Heaven" (7-20-14 020v4a) is from an old pic and was just "completed" this morning, after re-discovering it doing some more of my archiving/deleting project last night. As usual, I made several other versions today as well. But have only saved a rather psychedelic one that I like. However, I prefer the somewhat softer mood of this one.

FISHING FOR THE ISLANDS

"Fishing for the Islands" (10-9-16 006v3) is a brand new pic, just fussed a little bit with today (cropping, color correction, and sharpening). I simply do not have the right camera/equipment to take these sorts of long distance shots. Yet I do like how this one turned out. I really hadn't expected that fishing boat to show up as more than a tiny dark splotch (click on pic to see a wee bit of detail,:-D). Of course, the time of day I'm trying these sorts of shots is not optimal. The sun shines almost directly into my lens. I do occasionally try shading it a bit with my hand, but of course then I have to be careful I don't block the shot! And it's hard to tell if I am, given in such bright light the led view screen is all but totally useless for gauging anything. E.g., I have to turn sideways to get my shadow over the view screen just to be able to change my auto settings and even then it's a visual challenge. But, hey, it's all part of the fun of snapping pix, so I'm not really complaining.
