FROM THE HEART

From the Heart (5-9-12 11913v9) is the umpteenth version of a year and a half old picture. I won't test any viewer's patience by posting some of the others. They are just a variety of color combinations applied to this same crop. However, I approached the editing of this one differently, so that its "heart" is brighter and more colorful.

STUDY IN BLUSH

Study in Blush (4-7-12 11581ev3) has been sitting in its folder for a very long time, waiting only to be finalized. I.e., it needed a lot of cleaning up in that shadowy background. Painstaking work I just have to be in the right mood for. And I almost didn't manage it today, as I'd just finished mopping my bathroom floor and my mouse hand was still a bit shaky. (Yeah, it was that grungy. More blushing.)

FLOWERFALL; WAKING UP; & SUDDENLY

Flowerfall (4-19-12 11713e) above, is from an old photo, finally re-worked to my satisfaction this morning.

And here's another version of that same source photo, Waking Up (4-19-12 ev2):

This last version below, Suddenly (4-19-12 ev2), might yet be revised or even scrapped. I may decide that some of the dark areas are too distracting. (I've tried but haven't found a way to mute them without negatively effecting the rest of the colors and shapes.) Though I do like the color combo and that sense of explosion or coming apart:

CUP OF SILK & CUP OF CONTRAST

Cup of Silk (4-10-13 12445v5) above, is from a fairly recent photo. However, here's another time when the color I see in my editing programs is different from what shows up on my blog. Fortunately, I'm OK with the rather more purple than blue shade that appears on this blog.

This version below of the same photo is called Cup of Contrast (4-10-13 12445v6), and its colors are pretty much what I see in my editing programs:

BE MY CONFIDANTE

The original for Be My Confidante (4-29-12 11818e) is going on two years old. I've made other versions of it that I posted here and I think it may have more yet to come. But today's effort is sufficient to this day. I won't go for a second one as I tend to do. These pink and fuchsia shades with warm yellow, and hints of lavender and blue are fully satisfying (for the nonce).

WHICH CAME FIRST... & EGG OF THE DRAGON

OK, guess I couldn't stand being in the land of the real for too long. This first pic above, Which Came First... (7-28-12 12099v4) is from an old folder and just endlessly fudged with today. And Egg of the Dragon (7-28-12 12099v5), below, is from the same original photo from which I tortured "Which Came First.." And tortured really describes the process. All the "distorting" (as Photoshop calls the functions I used most) was great fun. Though after all is done I really have no idea whether these two pix are worth anything to anyone but me. Especially as I'm not sure it will be clear (you should pardon the pun) to a viewer that I deliberately blurred these.

FINGERPRINT OF A ROSE

Fingerprint of a Rose is actually a rather new photo for a change, and representational to boot. How's them apples? Funny thing is that to get it to a point where I wasn't too hesitant to post it took almost as much work as any of the more abstract ones I put up here. And I'm still far from mad about it, though there is something about it that I like. Maybe it's just my fondness for unfolding flower centers. It's also one of those rare pix of mine (at least to my most probably cataract affected perception) that looks better viewed in a smaller version. Go figure. This business of working with online/on screen images (as opposed to print copies) is endlessly entertaining in it's vagaries and varieties. Well, I'm saying it's entertaining today, on a grumpy afternoon you wouldn't want to know what I call the process.
