WINTER IMPRESSION

"Winter Impression" (1-17-15 020v7) was just taken and fudged with today. Not all that happy with it, and have a tried other coloration and textures. However, I do enjoy the vague resemblance to pointillism (which is the upshot of several different Photoshop options that I applied).

NOSING IN

The source photo for "Nosing In" (9-20-14 2479ev8) is only a few months old, as is this morph. All I did today was change the colors and intensity. I'd worked before that for quite some time in a different folder but none of those results were satisfying enough. Even this one lost it's "oomph" for me as I looked at it more on screen. So I think it's clear nothing will really please my critical eye today and I'll stop with "Nosing In." Which title seems appropriate given what my nitpicking eye does all the time. (Well, that is if an eye can nose in ... ack! forgive that attempt at a joke.)

WAKE UP CALL

"Wake Up Call" (6-22-09 2656v7e) is from an old morph of one of my oldest pix, just fudged into this form today. And that's all I have to say ... "say what!?" you say?

LONGING AT TWILIGHT

"Longing at Twilight" (5-21-11 11009ev5) was just morphed today from a very old photo. I was about to give up (for the umpteenth time over the years) on this photo when I thought to reverse the colors on the third or fourth version I'd tried today, yet one more time. (I'd already been reversing and re-reversing like crazy today, along with applying other filters, crops, and color changes.) And here it is. A morph I like enough to post, and can even enjoy bit.

BTW, it's probably obvious from a couple of recent posted pix (including this one) that I've been experimenting with various blur filters. I had steered clear of them in the past not wanting to deliberately blur things, when on occasion my developing cataracts can ever so slightly fuzz things up. Not to mention the issues my camera has sometimes with poor focus. So, to intentionally blur a pic? Ack! However, once I decided to try those blur functions I found the results intriguing. Now, when so moved, I try to artfully incorporate a blur filter.

MOON & OCEAN; & SUNSET & FERNS

Both "Moon & Ocean" (4-29-11 10826ev8b) above, and "Sunset & Ferns" (...ev7) below are from the same very old photo. I've been messing with the original for a couple hours now. (It was a shock when I noticed the time, even though I'm long accustomed to the timelessness of deep concentration.) I have a bunch of other versions but they each bother me too much in some way to share. Which, of course, is why I kept editing, chasing after that elusive something. Of all the other versions, I think these two come closest to whatever it was that kept pulling me on ahead in them.

As I mentioned here before, some pix look better larger and some smaller. These two definitely look better smaller (at least to my aging eyes). I.e., I usually recommend clicking on the photo to see a larger version. However, in this case I think they look best smaller. Of course, if you've read this far you are now probably curious to see what I mean. Go ahead, click, and then give me your opinion, if you'd like. I might find it helpful.

RAIN BY MOONLIGHT

"Rain by Moonlight" (2-27-11 10587v5b) is another very old photo, just further fudged with this morning. Glad I got bored and went poking around to find something I'd not looked at in a long time. Many of my old pix are equally old friends; I visit their folders frequently. This was tucked away in a folder I'd not been in for quite some time. And I was happy to reacquaint myself with this staghorn leaf pic as I lightly cropped and very slightly re-colored it. Oh, and I also had to do a bit of "painting out" of some schmutz in the top corners. As I've said before here, "painting out" distractions is the only aspect of editing pix that I don't enjoy. So I probably just left the cleaning up for some future date and then forgot about the pic altogether. Of course, in making friends with it again I recalled other problems I have with it. But, hey, nothing's perfect. And I still enjoy those curvy lines and raindrops.

OVERWINTERING

"Overwintering" (9-29-12 12171ev2a) is a recent morph of a very old photo, clearly heavily Photoshopped. It's mood and title reflect my current wish to somehow gracefully get through this season. Not the actual winter season, but the one of my inner world.
