THE INEXTRICABLE MIX

"The Inextricable Mix" (5-2-10 10052v7e) was just thoroughly fudged out of an old version of a very old original pic. Kinda, sorta how I think we all are, really. We either except the incredible mix we and others are, or go on trying to extricate what we want from a mix or give up and walk away. More and more I see that first option as the only life affirming one. Anyway, it was fun letting this version of this very old pic emerge as I fussed at it. It really wasn't where I was headed at with it. E.g., the working title that was in the back of my mind from the start was "Light Always Slips The Grip." (Titles occasionally occur to me early on for non-representational pix and then tend to influence my editing.) BTW, those little wavy dark lines are from the filter "craquelure." One I used to hardly ever apply, but have begun using a little as those lines can be small and very regimented or like they are here, or any number of densities and clarity in-between.

GEOMETRY RULES!

"Geometry Rules" (8-21-17 009vm) definitely needs to be viewed in a larger version because the "geometry" is apparent only in the small details, so just click on the pic if you're interested. It's from an old version of a six month old original pic. I didn't do a whole lot to it today but clarify the details and increase contrasts. I tried other color combos, but this one appealed to me most. Maybe because it vaguely echos the original which was of pale pink flowers above straw-like grass (in front of a fence).

HER BLACK BEAUTY

"Her Black Beauty" (2-19-10 19952ev7) was just further fudged from an old version of a very old photo. Made some minor changes to it (re-cropping for size, some difussing and sharpening, and work on the contrast). The title "Black Beauty" can be read to refer to the horse in the famous book "Black Beauty" and to a person of color. Make what you will of these references; it may very well be relevant. :-)

THE HEART'S BATTLEMENTS

"The Heart's Battlements" (2-19-10 19952v9b) was just further morphed from an old version of a very old original pic. I don't even recall what sort of editing lies beneath this one given how old it is. Can only say what I did today: difussing, sharpening, blurring, and minor color changes and saturation. The only thing I didn't have to do that I usually must is crop and/or re-size it. :-) And I have several other old versions of this same pic waiting to be played around with yet! Fun!

GARDEN ALIEN

"Garden Alien" (10-26-17 004v2) was taken a few months back and just now fudged into this version. It caught my eye clearly because it's so strange. I love stag horn plant leaves, but had never noticed the stems before. (I'm happy to say I passed this plant today, as I went on my first long walk in over a month. Yay! And I picked a perfect day to do so weather-wise.)
