THE BRUISE

"The Bruise" is one of several (big surprise, ey?) versions of a recent photo. A couple of which were already posted here. And that's about all I have to say today. Except that it rained last night! A real downpour and more clouds are gathering even as I type this. It'll take a lot of storms like last night's over this winter to really end the drought. But, no matter, when I heard the wet roadway tire noises last night I became almost giddy. One might then think I'd have chosen a water themed pic to post today. Go figure.

AUTUMN SUNSET

"Autumn Sunset" (10-7-14 009v4a) is from a recent photo, just morphed into this form this morning. Odd how I had all these more obviously Halloween pix stacking up and now the day is here and none that are left unposted suit me right now. At least the autumnal theme of this brand new one is in the proper season from which to wish you a HAPPY HALLOWEEN/BLESSED SAMHAIN!

BEFORE IT CHANGED

"Before It Changed" (10-24-14 031v5) is from that recent folder of pix I've been working in a lot. I did quite a bit of fussing with it in Photoshop and MS Picture Manager. And it's clear I'm still very much in an autumnal mood. BTW, those aren't real flowers, nor even yellow. They're a batch of whitish "silk" ones right near my computer, in a tall candlestick-cum-vase, dressing up an otherwise empty corner wall space.

BLACK WIDOW

"Black Widow" (10-24-14 015v14a) is another version of the same original pic from which yesterday's morph was made. And is in keeping with the Halloween theme. Fair warning: I may post pix of myself in my Halloween costume if any come out decent. (I'll try some selfies, which I'm not very good at, and pester other folk at the party to take some pix of me as well.)

CERNUNNOS

"Cernunnos" (10-24-14 015v11) is from that newest batch of pix I've taken, morphed into this form a few days ago. Nothing much to say except the obvious, that it's been massively fudged with in both Photoshop and MS Picture Manager. BTW, Cernunnos is an ancient Celtic stag-horned nature god.

STRAWBERRY SHAKE

"Strawberry Shake" (10-24-14 024v10) is another from my newest folder of pix, just finished being fussed with this morning. I suppose I could have held this pic for strawberry season (which starts in January south of here in CA, and moves north, peaking in late spring, ultimately growing 80% of our nation's strawberries). But I didn't have anything else I really felt like posting and by January I may very well have lost any interest in this pic. Though soon enough after January there will be slews of some of the most luscious looking strawberries at our meals that this former New Yorker has ever seen.

PUMPKIN SQUASH

"Pumpkin Squash" (10-24-14 024v7) is from my newest folder of pix and just fudged with endlessly yesterday. The original is neither of a pumpkin nor of anything being squashed or even exploded. I had great good fun messing with the shapes and colors as they appeared on my screen. There seemed to be a sort of manic call and response going on between what I envisioned and the computer programs would produce. Appropriate for Halloween time, I'd say. Especially here in Isla Vista/Goleta, with the University of California at Santa Barbara's infamous Isla Vista Halloween partying all over the news even before the event.
