DUSTING OFF THE DAY

"Dusting Off the Day" (probably taken late 2009) is another re-post. I may have shared it here a couple of times already as it's one of my personal favorites. It was taken outside of what (used to be) the Elephant Bar Restaurant, after a delicious dinner. This sky was the perfect desert.

THE TIME BETWEEN

As I said in my first post about this pic,"The Time Between" (2011) ... is one of those photos I feel totally hopeless to assess objectively. I'm completely seduced by the mood it generates for me. Along with some vague memory it releases that's so old I can't even catch it by the hem as it sprinkles me as if with fairy dust, then vanishes. BTW, I did some research this morning on photo editing programs and looked into the one that comes with my new Windows 10. So I've made a wee bit of progress in setting things up again to post new pix (and new versions of old ones :-D).

HOUR GLASS

A re-posting of a pic from 2011, called "Hour Glass." The woman who'd so carefully arranged the flowers in this vase would probably have been aghast that I cut off her flowers! :-) However, the shape, texture, and lighting on the vase and surrounding surfaces, took over my interest. "Hour Glass" was cropped, that is, to isolate/highlight the relationship of the areas I found intriguing. (As mentioned here yesterday, I'll be sharing re-posts here until such time as my new computer system is up to snuff, with all my photos files and editing programs.)

GOTH WEDDING

Before I go on about this pic being the face only a mother could love, I should mention it's a re-posting. In fact, I may have posted this one here a few times. It's one of my personal favorites. It's called "Goth Wedding" [in folder dated 7-17-10]. I'll never forget the look on the face of a neighbor when she saw me taking this pic. She was aghast, what could I possibly see in this nearly dead blossom? But to me that was and still is part of what draws me: beauty even in what's passing away.

Which brings me to the passing of 2018: HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019!

BTW, I'll probably be doing more re-posting here of pix, as I still don't have my photos loaded to my new computer, nor do I have the appropriate editing programs.
